TEAM SORTLAND - NORWEGIAN NATIONAL TEAM-WINNERS 2005

AGAINST:

CHALLENGERS: - Compounded teams based on PC Trond "Wirkola" Hegrand, with former national winners from Tromsø,  former European junior winner, and fortified with a veteran player and two seniors named as "former common stars".
All the challengers has international experience, and has won a countless number of tournaments during the last 20 year.

We had a really fine get togheter both friday and saturday. Menu: Moose and seafood.

During tournament it was only ONE timeout, and that was friday when "Wirkola" had to retire for the evening.

If you click on the map you can see where "Farmen" is located.

Friday 9 pm GMT: The first match is now finish - victory to Tromsø 1. Test team 1 was not in the best shape because of a long jorney by car, but they will rise the flag to morrow. "Wirkola" is now resting.
So fare  thanks to all viewers and commentators.

Saturday at 2 pm GMT: The results after match 3 shows that  team SORTLAND perhaps dont keep the hegemony anymore. In Match 4 both SORTLAND and TROMSO will play with what they mean are the best paircombination.  It will probably be a "bonematch", and Olav has taken timeout before the match begin.

From all us here we say thanks to the commentators, and hope they will be with us for the remaining of the evenement. Everebody here is still in good shape.

Saturday at 7 pm GMT:
FINALE TEAM A:   Gunnar Harr - Espen Larsen and John-Eldar Pedersen - Trond"Wirkola" Hegrand
FINALE TEAM B:   Peter Marstrander - Rune Brendeford Anderssen and Stein Eliassen - Håkon Bergsrud

Paal Tore Fondevik is qualified for finale match, but he will take care of BBO vugraph, instead Hakon Bergsrud is playing. Sigve was the other vugraph-operator during finale match.

Results from final match: Team A won with IMP 33-25

We had near 850 spectators in one match, and I belive an average  about 700 - as a local and private tournament we are very content with this. The numbers of "click" on webcam site is fantastic. Tecnical everything worked 100%. We say tanks to Ronald Wald and all other commentators.
We will probably be back next year.

Regards
JohnP and Paal Tore.

Commentators asked "What is that bid meaning?" when JohnP in secong hand and vulnerable, and in Norwegian style opened 2 spade with 4/6(5) in black.  (May be too strong for a opening bid at 2-level, but it was a choice beetween 1 or 2). Sigve as vugraph operator told the meaning, and rest of bidding sequens was such:

Axxx                    KQxxx                                          2 spade - 2 NT (ask for the other coulor)
x                          AJxx                                              3 club    - 4 NT (RKC Blckw)
xx                        Ax                                                  5 spade - 7 spade   (5 spade shows 2 ace values and club Q)
KQJ109x             Ax
